shouldn't be any problem, aside from the fact that the rivets are very tightly 'swedged' into the holes, electrolysis works "line of sight" between the electrodes, it doesn't do much deep between things, where there's not likely to be real corrosion anyway .... it also doesn't do anything to paint or anything under sound paint, so it's a good idea to clean paint off
