That is the replacement starter switch for the 6-cylinder motors, it mounts on top of the starter motor...don't think it will work on the V8's.
What you need is a swtich that will power the solinoid on the V8 starter. See it the switch on this page will work p/n 7-1005 about 3/4 down the page under Starter Switches.
http://www.texasindustrialelectric.com/switches.asp This switch would stick up above the floor mat like a dimmer switch and you would run the soloniod wiring through it as if it were the key switch.
