It probably is a Spicer if it has R to the left and up. 5 gallons should do it. If you take the cover off of the shifter, you will see that it has an Ajax screw with a block and very small ball bearings. There is a rubber boot between it and the rear end. The shifter needs thin oil to operate. 3 in 1 machine oil would be good too.
