Well aware of galvanic Bill. That's a result of dissimilar metals being in contact over a long period of time. In the case Benny discussed above good parts completely dissolved into nothing in about a 12 hour period!
Salt water also attacks 300 series stainless steel, but I don't think that's applicable here either.
