In high school I had 55 first series, never quite got it together. 20 years later I stumble on a guy up here with a bunch of old trucks. I've been looking for a 3 yard dump truck for hauling around the homestead, so i brought home a 52 GMC 2ton dump truck.
It's stock, and got it running by filing the points, But there is a crack along the bottom of the water jacket under the freeze plugs.
I have access to a 65 1 1/2 ton with a V8 or thinking a 6.2 diesel and automatic. Maybe even a 4x4 conversion. It has the two speed rear, so I would need to match the high gear ratio. I have a lot to learn about these trucks.
