Stephan, your main shaft and slip joint is supported in the
front by the main shaft front ball bearing and in the rear by
the bushing in the case extension. 1/16" play in the rear is
WAY to much. There should be barley perceptible play
in that bushing. The bushing is obviously worn out.
Like Bart posted with that much play the rear seal
has to be leaking badly.
That in all likelihood is where your vibration is coming from.
