First remove the hot wire from the coil and be sure you have voltage to it.
If yes, re-install it and remove distributor cap. Are the points opening when the engine turns?
If yes, stop the engine with the points closed. Pull the coil wire from the dist. cap and hold the end about 1/4" from the block. Now, with the switch on, separate the points with a screwdriver. A spark should jump from the coil wire to the engine.
If not you could have a bad coil or a bad condenser.
