Good Morning & HAPPY EASTER!
Sent the following text to OLY regarding his valve adjustment Tech Tip.
"Am planning to adjust the valves on my 235ci 1955 series II pick up with 76,000 original miles.
Conflicting info ie. warm / cold engine and clearance 6/16 hot vs. 6/13 (your tech tip) prompted me to contact you directly. I've only ever adjusted valves on cold engines (motorcycles) and on running v8's with hydraulic lifters. Should the engine be warm or cold?"
My mail was returned as undeliverable. Hope OLY is still around but maybe someone else can help.
Any additional info on rocker arms would be greatly appreciated. Understand there are several rockers and the order they are mounted to the shaft is important. A friend adjusted my valves about 1,000 miles ago and removed the rocker shaft to clean everything. Since then the engine "clatters"above 2500 RPM. Starts and runs well. Idles very good and has excellent oil pressure and no smoke. Maybe a rocker arm is incorrectly mounted???
Many Thanks
