On my 49 half ton were a set of coil overload springs. There is a bracket with a captive bolt welded to each end of the axle housing. it looks too professional to have been an add-on. The coil springs tapered from narrow where they bolted to the axle to wide where they hit the frame rails. The top of the spring was encapsulated in rubber. They were not attached at the top. I have seen extra leaf overload but never coils. Its a Canadian-built truck so maybe its unique but again can find no documentation. | | |
