pretty unclear what you're trying to say, but usually shifting problems are due to wear or misalignment of the bits in the shift box on the column, see fig 2 here in the shop manual and the info after that .... most years there was a bushing on the shift box arms, and bronze ones last best - you might find the bronze bushings sold for hinge pins [Help! rack #38374 at NAPA] work for these
