Talk about a non event. Thanks to all the help here I was well prepared. I set up a table in front of the truck,placed a couple pieces of insulation board on it wrapped in rags. Set the windshield gasket on top and started fitting it to the glass.Took the completed windshield/gasket to the truck and set it on the outside in position.Pushed it in as far as it would go and started to pull the string from the bottom.Got to the corner and started to pull the string from the top.Finished off pulling out the strings.Pushed the windshield around until it fit ok and it was done. That's it. Installation only took about 10 minutes.
I used two strings. One wrapped around each piece of windshield and left the ends hanging on top and bottom.My strings were two kinds. One side was nylon braided cord about 3/16"thick.Since I didn't have anymore cord,I used round phone cord for the other side. Both worked just as well.
I took a few pictures.If anyone is interested I'll post them.Now to put in my headliner and finish the cab interior.---Jack
