For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 14 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 14 | i am tearing down the differential in a 1934 single speed 1 1/2 ton gmc (canadian) to eliminate differential lube from draining into the brake drum hubs and saturating the brake linings...the leakage is coming from the felt seals that are located in the hubs (brakes)...the felt is compressed between two stamped races and low pressure pressed into the drum...kind of hard to explain...hope someone recognizes my situation and can tell me where to find new felt seals or advise on how to rebuild the current ones...all bearings are in good shape...thanks...ron | | | |
