Thanks for your input Jeff. I was planning on throwing power to the glow plugs immediately after startup so the alternator rather than battery is doing the work but he will have a robust electrical system so preheating is an option. As I have some familiarity with your experience I would appreciate your input on the following questions:
1. Do you think coolant or exhaust circulation thru the intake after the engine is fully warmed up provides any benefit?
2. Are you aware of other applications where electrical quick heating as proposed has performed and/or failed at the task we are discussing?
