If you are patient, you could look for a 1954/55st 1/2 ton truck Hydra-Matic (four forward speeds; high gear is 1:1).
You would need:
- transmission and shifter mechanism (all parts from the transmission to steering wheel)
- rear end: the 54 H-M torque-tube must be used; or, rear-end/drive-shaft for 55st open drive shaft.
- two bolt-on frame cross-members
- floor-board cover
Most likely you would have to re-route the brake lines.
I am not recommending this; just posting what woukld work and what would be needed.
