What is the length of the box/bed?
As you stated,
KD indicates 3/4 ton 123.75" wheel base, and the 1/2 ton has a 113.5" wheel base.
Unfortunately, bed measurements are missing from the 1940 Specifications Manual; however, there are different-sized bed-side illustrations shown. They might help you ID the bed.
