I was on the fence on spending $500+; new steering column, steering wheel, d-bar, and universal joint, in the end I was looking at about $1,000 bucks for it all. I settled for the 47-54 column and wheel from the swap meet forum. I used a column save from CPP and the d-bar and universal joints from flaming rivers.
This worked for me and it worked with a mustang II rack and pinion.
