Hi my name is Jack. I was posting on another truck forum and was advised to come here. They said this place was more my style.I got a complete 51 chevy pickup in trade for some carpentry work. It hasn't run for many years. I just had to get it shipped to Maine from Arizona.I've been working on it over the winter. Replaced the rubber and some glass in the doors.Latches, liners,arm rests etc.Went through the fuel system,ignition and installed all new brake parts. I should be driving it out of the tent in a month. This will be my Daily Driver and a work truck. It had a rotted out wood flat bed. I started from scratch and built a wooden box on the back to carry woodworking tools and other related stuff.
I'll post pictures of my truck when I get it out of the tent.
I was a mechanic years ago but when they put computers under the dash they lost me.So I learned carpentry.
That's enough about me for now. I've posted here for a little while and I like it. I think I'll stick around if you'll have me.
