54 was the first year that there was a cable that went from foot pump to windshield wiper motor to make wipers pass when pump is pressed. There are several parts for 54 that are different. I went through quite an ordeal gathering stuff to install washers on my 54 which I have not installed yet. Here is a link that may help you find stuff that you want.
