If your speedometer is off by 10 mph at all speeds, you have an offset error. In that case an adapter won't help. If it is off by changing amounts at different speeds than an adapter will help. I would suggest that you graph the two sets of readings, real and displayed on a piece of paper and then you can see what you have.
