For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1,624 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1,624 | I wanted SST strips for my slick running boards on my street rod but didn't want to spend the money for the ones seen above. Solution: Found 1/2" half round SST rod at "McMaster-Carr" in 8 foot pieces. Used scrap wood strips to figure out the pattern I wanted. Cut and polished the strips (I chose to use a chisel tip end). Used a 3-M double sided tape used to hold plastic trim on cars. Been on now for over 5 years with no problems and they still look great. This car is a driver that gets about 6k miles a year.
