Do you have proof positive that this alternator is 6 volt. As Baldy hinted at, finding a 6 volt voltage regulator that was compatible with a alternator might be a chore. I don't know if there was a internally regulated 6 volt alternator made. If you are going to put a alternator on something vintage, then there goes the stock appearance...why not do the same swap but make it a modern 12 volt alternator...they look almost identical and you dump the regulator!
