I am modernizing a '47 1/2, and a '48 panel. Does anyone know of a multi speed 12v heater motor? The original 6v motor uses a resistor in the switch for two speeds, high and low. With my 12v system that's high and blastoff. The resistor burned up. I used a rheostat for awhile, but it got so hot the plastic knob melted. Now I am ready to replace the 6v motor with a 12v. Napa has a 12v motor that will go right in, but it is only one speed. Similar to the American Classic part. American Classic also has the rheostat for speed control. Is the rheostat the way to go for heater motor speed control, or is there a multi-speed motor available? A multi-tapped motor. 5/16" shaft, 3 1/4" case, 2 studs 2" on center.
