Here's a trick I use when setting up race car brakes. Assemble the calipers onto the mounts with new pads installed, and hang them over the rotors (installed on the spindles). Use air pressure to clamp the brakes onto the rotors, and measure the distance from the brackets to the spindles. Then make whatever length spacers you need. Just be sure the calipers are centered on the slides correctly before taking the measurement. Reverse engineering the setup will make it unique to your application. That's how the greedy donkeyholes figured out the length of the spacers they sold you in the first place!
