Are you sure the spacer wasn't to put the wheel out further so it doesn't hit the caliper?
I've had zero luck with POL as far as tech support.
Try calling CPP and speak with Van in tech support - 714-522-2000. I was in the same situation with a POL kit, and was able to order the two spacers and six screws for the six lug kit separately from him.
