Im in the same process of making one too. For one I am looking to put a hitch on as well. I have the same tin foil one as you have. Ive been thinking of either a 3x8 or 4x8 piece of square tube, something HEAVY to weigh it down when it snows, and secondly something that I can plant my foot on top of and not worrying about sliding sideways on an "edge."
Also I was looking to get rid of the C-channel extensions since mine are all hacked up and install 2 newer C-channel extensions that bolt into the frame
