Hi,
This isn't really about a stovebolt but I had great luck getting info from you guys when I was restoring my '53 Chevy I figured I might as well ask. My 1957 Divco has a 6v delco generator with a large 3/4" belt pulley on it. All the generator guys I have talked to have said it is unlikely they can get parts / convert it to 12v.
My new plan is to use a common 12v delco generator out of a late 50's Chevy truck. They are dime a dozen and the parts availability shouldn't be too bad. My only concern is whether my pulley will swap over. Does anyone know what the shaft size is on a late 50's delco generator? For that matter, are the shaft sizes reasonably standard or are they model dependent?
Any info would be great, for something I thought would be nice and simple this has become a real pain in the rear!
