For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | | | Joined: Nov 2019 Posts: 5 'Bolter | 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Truck is from Waco Texas purchased new in Corsicana Texas. My Dad purchased late 80's from original Family last driven in 1968 when the owner passed away. Truck was still driving at that time when Dad took it to a body shop in West Texas and had some work done and had it primed and was put in a barn at my Dad's ranch covered with a tarp until his passing. My son in I Drove from Michigan to Texas to bring it home to finish and wanted to use as much as I could to make it as it once was. Original color was Indian turquoise and Bombay White. all Drivetrain was rebuilt using same parts and 327 v8 installed due to motor was just to far gone to continue from sitting and was more cost effective to install a motor I already had reconditioned. Had the correct bellhousing already so was able to retain 3 speed column shift. Now it drives really well with little to no noises and holds road well not going to win any races or stop on a dime but not what it is to be used for Dad would have liked it this way. Took two years to get it on the road all work was done myself so not a fortune into this truck. Funny thing My son and I talked about was this thing was full of mice and a Bull snake. Must have fell out on the way to Michigan. Had a good ride back home and some time together and made a few Memories. | | |
