1946 Chevrolet 3/4 Ton Pickup

I saw the old truck sitting in a fella's yard in a little town 40 miles from home. I knocked on the door and didn't get an answer. After returning home I wrote a letter and mailed it. To my surprise the gentleman called and I made arrangements to go look at the pickup. Before i Knew it I was the new owner :-)

I have done so much, for so long, with so little, that I can do almost anything with nothing at all.

What a great find. She looks really solid as I don't see any rust.

Thanks for posting

John

Very nice, I have the GMC version, same year. Looks like you have something good to work with, enjoy.

So, I looked at your 46 3/4 Ton. Nice truck! What hubcaps are you running? My truck came with 1 piece 16'' wheels with 750X16'' tires. I don't know if they are Ford wheels or not. I also got the original wheels with the lock ring. I want to run hubcaps, but the originals won't work.

Kirk, don't tell anyone, but yes I am running 1980's 16" ford rims and stored my split rims. Tire size is 235/85-16 Goodyear radials, and the hubcaps come from Hubcap Mike 11-5/8 inch to 11-3/4 inch Size Baby Moon Hubcap Stainless Steel Center Cap, IMP-M12. Good luck with your truck and give us some more pictures of the old gal..

I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a hubcap that would fit the wheel and over the rear floating hub/axle. Now there is hope!

No problem with clearance on the rear floating hub/axle. I tried another vendor and did have that issue but the Hubcap Mike caps work good and stay on. They have been on for three years now and still working good.

Thank you! 4 or 5 of the bars have a small crease across them I think I can help them some.
