For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 8 | I may need to replace the spindles on my '52 GMC 1/2 ton. I've read somewhere that spindles from several years (of GMC/Chev) trucks will work. Up to '59 ?? Can anyone help me out with info. I don't see spindles offered for sale anywhere, so I'm thinking I need to visit the local bone yards. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | 1951-59 1/2 ton will work.
Reproduction spindles are not available (good luck finding GM replacement spindles).

I took the new bearings in and the machine shop built the spindle back up and turned it to match the bearings.
Wasn't that expensive to do, but did this back in 1983 or 84. Been running it ever since. Still have the ball bearings. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 8 | | | |
