I have tooled in a few parts books but can't seem to find them Urethane would be cool too

I bought new ones for my '53 one ton and they worked great. Installing them was pretty straight forward, but getting the old ones out was a real challenge. Good luck.

I am currently digging back in to a 1953 3800 (one ton) with a nine foot bed. I've owned it since 1979, and drove it until 1982 (or so). My wife got me involved in restoring it back in 2002, got the body removed and the frame redone, then things came up. Now I am retired and starting again. If anyone is interested I have photos on Imagur ( https://timwhiteblues.imgur.com/ ). I live way back in the woods in the Ozarks on 40 acres at the end of a 2 1/2 mile private road. Tim

I am curious how durable those are on the spring shackles. I know from experience that the rubber ones from China made of old flip flops and plastic soda bottles (according to bartamos ) split in very short order. Carl

The cork seals still look just fine, still in place, not cracked, no shrinking. I'll snap
a new photo in the morning when the sun comes up to show their present condition.
I lost all of the original photos when my confuser crashed several years ago, so
I can't date exactly when I rebuilt the front springs and made those seals. But....it
had to be close to 10 years ago. I can tell you, that I've put about 16k on Old Blue
since I did the front spring work.
Lots of alternative parts are offered to rebuild our trucks, but based on my experience
the best ones are the ones that duplicate the original parts in design and material.
