Did the 41 thru 46 1/2 tons have a license plate light integrated in the single tail light? Where can I get a picture of a 41' OEM tail light? Thanks and Happy New Year!

Yes. It shines up on the license plate. They are rectangular lights. All the supply houses have them.

So the license plate is positioned above the tail light?

Yes. Sort of an "S" bracket holds the light then there is a horizontal piece above the light with slots. Need a picture?

Thanks Gene. The pics were very helpful. Also noticed what appears to be a conversion to double contact parking lights - I assume for functional signal lights. What helpful hints can you share to accomplish that. I don't want to just add more light fixtures up front.

I used an 1157 socket with a flange along the top edge. I drilled out the old small single filament lamp socket. I epoxied the lamp socket in place. I thought about solder but had already finished painted the headlight bucket. I then soldered a ground lead on the back side of the socket. I separately grounded all lights on my truck. Then the rear lights I used the same socket but made a brass bar to mount the socket. I soldered the socket into the brass bar. The tail light is bonded with a ground wire to the mounting bolt. The 6V 1154 lamp is about equal to 12V modern brightness. Much better for a tail and brake light. And yes I added turn signals. I made a post in the electrical section on this also.
