Well, finally am going to take the seats from my '55 3100 in to the upholstery guy and have them redone. I had the drivers seat fixed when I first got the truck, as it was not good enough to set on. The back needs work also, springs making alot of noise! As you can see from the pic, the passenger seat has been getting bad, everytime some one sets on it. I am going to have him redo the complete passenger seat and the back of the drivers seat. These seats are out of a Chevelle and fit into the pickup good. They are very sought after by the guys restoring Chevelles, I am told. The only thing negative about this is that the upholsterer will have my seats for at least a week, he has a regular job also and does upholsterey on the side. A week is a fair amount of time to reupholster your seats I think. Once you get them back and installed you'll be so happy you won't care about the time anyway.

I thought The bench seat in my 49 Chevy 1/2 ton was toast. My upholstery guy took 2 weeks. He striped everything off, sandblasted the frame, both seat and back, re-did the springs, powered coated the metal . Then did a beautiful vinyl maroon upholstery with a cream color bead (same color as the truck)I wanted to put in buckets but as it's a ground up restoration I was talked out of it. I did get 2 nice tan buckets from the center row of a Chrysler Town and Country @ the U-Pic-it for $10 each. $600 but it was worth it.

What a wait, just over two weeks. First the material was late, then the foam in my seats was unusable.... But no big deal in the overall, they look and feel great!
