I know the dash for sure, but I don't know what else was painted with the hammertone. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 129 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 129 | The removable panels were painted the hammertone. The body was painted as an assembly. The dash, rear upper panel, corner panels, door panels, etc were all the hammertone color. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 170 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 170 | Depending on how original you want to be - I used Rustoleum hammered paint. Mixed half copper and half silver. A quart of each was more than enough to do the doors, dash, back interior panel and trim. Painted with a brush. The drawback is the parts have to be removed and laid flat to prevent runs. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,596 | I originally used some Gold Tremclad Hammered paint, but it was way too gold, so I used the brown stuff and it met my needs, but mine isn't a restoration. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 170 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 170 | How close to the original color does this copper/silver mix get. Also is it compatible to go over a catalized enamel primer? Some of the pictures of this paint look really hammered compared to what I can tell of the original finish I could find on my trim pieces. How did yours turn out? Do you have any pictures of the finished product? I tried to match it to a heater I bought. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 170 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 170 | See if you can see these on photobucket. Before & after pics.

What I can see of my original sample trim piece, it is more of a rose/beige, and not as hammered of a texture.I read that the Jim Carter paint needs forced dry for the finish texture and I am not sure about the color? Has anyone used this product? Thanks Scott | | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 137 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 137 | My 41' is painted "gold" inside, but is obviously not the factory paint. So is this "hammered" gold the standard color, or are there more colors with the hammered effect? | | |
