For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 311 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 311 | I am finishing up installation of a new wiring harness on my '48 Loadmaster 6v. When I disconnected the optional cigarette lighter and heater blower switch I did not pay as close of attention as I should have. They were both connected to the ignition switch, however I am having trouble determining which contacts on the ignition switch are which. When I look at the assembly manual I believe the post closest to the gauges is the one for the ignition switch to coil, and ignition switch to gasoline gauge. Then the bottom post is the Ignition switch to ammeter. If this is correct should I connect the lighter and blower to the remaining post? I would prefer to make these connections correctly before I reconnect the battery. Also I have added a small tach, and am planning on powering its light from the "Instrument/key lock light' connection at the light switch. I appreciate any and all feedback. I only use it to charge the phone. Here is the info for the booted connector for the back | | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 311 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 311 | Thanks Dads50 I had seen that thread when I looked thru the archives. Luckily my original cable is in great shape. After looking thru some old pictures that I took of the wiring. I found that mine was connected to the back of the light switch like the link you shared. There is no fuse connected to it, have you heard of many problems with non fused cigarette lighters in the AD trucks? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 | have you heard of many problems with non fused cigarette lighters in the AD trucks? Havent heard of any problems, it was recommended to add a fuse in a thread I had about the lighter. To protect whatever device you may have charging. | | |
