So this has always been my achilles heal it seems. Running the lights always feels like a gauntlet.
I did find this thread
from 09 that I understand but I'm starting to think I need a 3 or 4 element fixture for this frankenstien and hope one of you guys can point or even trip me in the right direction.
Since the front half is an 88' OT PU and the 'tail end' is a 56 GMC my problem is getting from the wiring harness of the front to the 2 on each side separate 1157 bulbs (one in the bed roll one in a 'trailer light' mounted @ the bottom of the 'shaved' end pocket panel.
The rear light connectors on the OT are
Left Right
Turn - Green/B Green/Y
Back Up- Red/B Red/B
Stop - Green/W Green/W
Tail/Park- Green Green
Ground - White/B White/B
The Turn and Back up are on 1- 15A fuse
The Stop is on it's own 15A fuse
and the Tail lights as well.
I've been telling myself there's a way but have only made it 3/4 there at my closest.
I've tried adding a ground line from my insulated sockets (The bed roll light is mounted in a 1"PVC coupling) to the ground in the connector and also direct to the bed -current configuration-
How important is it that the turn signal be a 'closed loop' as it were, returning via the White/B line?
Now as I finally express the problem in print I'm realizing I need a third bulb no matter what... or a fixture that has dedicated ground/return wires to segregate the 3 circuits. Probably a different bulb type as well huh?
Odd. Hey Bartamos, I have this strange desire to delete this post before I even post it... Is there something in the cyberspace?
