I am finishing up installation of a new wiring harness on my '48 Loadmaster 6v. When I disconnected the optional cigarette lighter and heater blower switch I did not pay as close of attention as I should have.
They were both connected to the ignition switch, however I am having trouble determining which contacts on the ignition switch are which.
When I look at the assembly manual I believe the post closest to the gauges is the one for the ignition switch to coil, and ignition switch to gasoline gauge. Then the bottom post is the Ignition switch to ammeter. If this is correct should I connect the lighter and blower to the remaining post? I would prefer to make these connections correctly before I reconnect the battery. Also I have added a small tach, and am planning on powering its light from the "Instrument/key lock light' connection at the light switch. I appreciate any and all feedback.
Thanks Curt

Dads50 I wonder if they connect to the light switch because it is a 986403 cigarette lighter and light?
I have the lighter only as shown here in the 1947-54 Truck assembly manual.

Curt, the tach light is best connected to the dash light power so it's lit as/when the dash lights are - the cig lighter could be powered from the same terminal as the gas gauge/ignition, so it will only be 'hot' when the key is on - or if it were connected to the same terminal as the ammeter it will be 'hot' all the time - your call, but however you do it make sure you have an inline fuse

I wired mine to the acc terminal on the ignition switch with an 10 amp inline fuse. I only use it to charge the phone.

Here is the info for the booted connector for the back

You need the following connector which was made for this type hook up (threaded screw). It just pushes on and will not fall off. It is insulated and is the eaisest connector I have ever used.
It is AIRTEX Part # 1P1063
You can get it from O'Reilly Auto Parts

Rock auto parts also has it.

Thanks Dads50 I had seen that thread when I looked thru the archives.
Luckily my original cable is in great shape. After looking thru some old pictures that I took of the wiring. I found that mine was connected to the back of the light switch like the link you shared.
There is no fuse connected to it, have you heard of many problems with non fused cigarette lighters in the AD trucks?

Havent heard of any problems, it was recommended to add a fuse in a thread I had about the lighter. To protect whatever device you may have charging.
