What diesel would have been in the GMC 650? Looks like a pretty nice tractor.

I am guessing the GMC 650 used a 4-71...if the hood was longer may be a 6-71N.

But that's my guess.

Really nice trucks too.

Do you know if the trucks are for sale? I have been looking for a 600-series diesel.

The one flatbed has a price on the side window. Give the number on the sign picture that's in that folder a call. It looks like some kind of a church . Good luck. Let me know if you get it. I'd like to see it run. Jim. It's located on hwy 64., Alma arkansas

Sorry, guess I didn't download that pic. The phone number on the sign, which is located in the compound, is not the truck owners number. Its setup like a car lot, with the trucks facing the highway, so I'd guess they are for sale. Good luck. Jim

Talked to the owner. All are for sale. He said $10,000 for the 1951 640 series with 4-71 detroit/ GMC diesel. Has a 5553A Spicer 5 spd overdrive he thinks. He has quite a few trucks I didn't see too. The above phone number is not his. If your interested in any let me know and I'll Pm his phone number to you. Jim

eagle,

Go back and edit out the incorrect phone number so down the road people don't bother someone else...

Mike, thanks for the reminder. It was his wifes number, who is the minister. Anyways, didn't ask him if it was OK to post his number, so figured I wouldn't.

$10k is a little steep on that truck, for me anyway. I guess I will keep looking! Thanks

Yeh, little too much for me. Looks pretty descent, but better have new tires, rebuilt drivetrain and more for that price.

Next time I go to Ft. Smith I'm going to check out a COE and an OD 5 speed he has. What would be a reasonable price for 5 speed OD Clark for a 3 ton with 270.?

Scrap price. Clark parts are hard to find. 270/302 parts are not cheap.

I have the 3 ton with the good running 270. Was just wondering about the Clark 5 spd overdrive transmission. Any ideas how many pounds one weighs?

I'd guess 250 lb or there about for the little Clark 5 speeds.
As Ed says don't may much for it, or any more than scrap for a direct drive. They're difficult to get parts for. If it's in good shape no reason not to run it. If it comes to rebuilding one you're probably better off looking for a whole decent one instead.
