I was just wondering if anyone has ordered one and if so were you happy with it? Found one on eBay for 300 bucks from Jim Carter.
Thanks

Jim Carter is selling the 1/2 ton gas tank, it is not the same as the one ton. 16 gallon for the 1/2 ton and 18 gallons for the 1 ton.

I was unable to find a tank for my panel. But some shops, such as radiator shops, will cut the tank open, clean and repair rust, then reassemble the tank and coat the inside with an epoxy material. That is what I ended up doing. The shop who did mine offered a lifetime warranty. It's been about 4 yrs and so far it's been working just fine. The owner of the shop told me it is used widely on commercial trucks. The cost is comparable to that what a new tank cost for those that are available.

... I think I got one of the first tanks Jim had remade for the half ton. It is a nice tank down to the last dimple it matches the old one.

Has he, by chance, had the one ton duplicated?? Give him a call and ask! .... AND he may have a nice used one out back where he has a lot of fenders and doors and such. I wanted to bring it all home with me!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
