Did all the AD series panel trucks come with front anti-sway bars? Were they options? Or, did the anti- sway bars start somewhere in the middle of the AD series years?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, my "original" 52 panel had the front sway bar but it seems I remember reading that not all of them had them....but I could be wrong. Mine is a 1/2 ton.
I'm sure one of the other guys "with the books" will chime in.

3105 Panel and 3106/3116 Suburbans had them as standard equipment in all A-D years. 3805 Panels did not.

It looks like 3107 Canopy Express did not have them.

I got mine off a 46 suburban in a wrecking yard, lots of unique attaching parts. Bolted right in to my pickup. Sure miss all those great wrecking yards, not many left now. I belive sway bars went back to 30s panels and suburbans.

My 37 panel had no sway bars. But I do want to add some

These old bolts are in my blood. Hard thing is focusing on just one.

THanks guys. My 1950 panel has one, but a friend's 1952 pickup doesn't have one. Was just curious.

My 49 Sub did not have one when I bought it. P.O must have removed it. I put one on from a boneyard. Made a big difference. I put a universal one on in the back from Summit. Panels and subs have such a high center of gravity that in any kind of crosswind they can get hard to handle when at speed. I would recommend at least one in the front on any 1/2 T and bigger.

Did the 1 ton panels have a sway bar also? And if they did, was it a larger size than the 1/2 ton panels?
Thanks,
Mike

The pickups never had em. However, the holes are present in the cross member. Mine bolted right on.

I think JimCarter and maybe other vendors sell a complete kit... or they use to. I also heard some folks have found the new poly bushings in a J.C. Whitney catalog?!

Not sure about the '46 but Jim Carter sells them for the AD bar. I got em for mine there. As I recall there are two types of brackets for the AD trucks, older and newer, as well as Chevrolet and GMC versions of the bracket to fit the different cross members. Mine was the older Chev style (47-early 51). The older style rubber parts might be the same for pre-'47.

For comparison with your bar you can see the various parts on my brackets here in part 5 of this post. http://rustyfiftyone.com/ketchup-catsup-catch-up/
