The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk 1956 GMC radiator question

I have the 56 GMC (not a chevy)1/2 ton that I need a radiator for. This truck is equipped with that U shaped mount as they were from the factory. It is hard to find dimensions on the internet of an original and aftermarket radiators. One fella measured a radiator for me on another site but he wasn't sure it is the correct one. I guess I was hoping to see if anyone on here had any measurements of the correct radiator for this truck they could give me or would know of a site or page on the net that would show anything like that. I need the core size, the measurements at the mounting holes. maybe the height, the size of the U I need to make sure on but it seemed like the measurement at the centers of the top flange mounting holes was around 21"+ a tad. I called US radiator as they were the only ones that listed some dimensions and he said of the 3 they offer, the mounting holes were 25-26". well, that is no where near right for what I have, and the thinnest core size is what my mounting holes show. Does anyone know that they may have used earlier truck radiators in these? I will listen to any advice on this, thanks

you might try talking to Jim Carter, who shows a size here - note the rad may differ between 6 and V8
