I need some help.... I have rewire my truck and added an alternator. I used everything I could get from MAD. I am still working out some small kinks but I cannot get my wipers to work. There is power (12v) to them and when I turn the switch to the off position and hold in the button on the motor the wipers will operate. When I release the button they go to park. New switch and rebuilt motor. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance....Jeff

a19593200,

Is there a chance you have them wired wrong. The dash switch supplies ground to the wiper motor to complete the circuit.

I think the button you are pressing on the motor is a overload relay. This also indicates something is wired wrong or jamming.

I have enclosed a link to a diagram that might help out. Good luck.

what is this "button" yer pressing?
the OEM TF wiper motor has a mechanical dash switch that runs a slider on the wiper motor, the motor has one wire for 12V+ and gets ground thru the case

sounds like you might have hooked up the control cable from the dash knob with the slider in the wrong position, or yer rebuild got the internal switch position wrong - here\'s one apart , only pic I have on hand, but I've never seen a "button" on any of them

a19593200,

The link I posted is for a '59 car! From what Bill indicates, this doesn't apply to the truck. He has Task Force rigs so my bet is with him.

There are some great wiring diagrams online, but sadly, many years are missing. It seems those are the years that get the most questions.
