I was working on building a cab dolly today. I made a frame that bolted to the 4 cab mount locations. I was thinking of making it so I could tilt it towards the firewall and roll it around that way as well, so the back of the cab is up, making it easier to work on underneath. What I'm not sure of is how long to make the legs. If the cab is too low it will be hard to work on...too high might not be good either. Anybody have any experience with this?

yeah, I did. Those look more like storage dollies. Too low and no access to the bottom. I was looking for ideas on a 'work on it' dolly so you can get to the cab corners and underneath.

Well, the cabs are pretty strong, so just flipping one on its nose gets access to the bottom. It's been done many times from what I've read on Stovebolt.

Check out the flp it dolly on 67-72Chevy trucks forum. I think his name is Kevin, sells plans. You might be able to get an idea from his. Good luck . Jim

Made one from a 4x4, 2x4's and four casters. Set height at two foot high.
Made long enough to roll cab on back to clean and paint bottom. Whole thing was less than $50 bucks. Works great. Sorry no pic.
