Great ride, wonderful company, awesome day, good beer Awesome job, Sweet! Obviously an ODSS meritorious citation of some sort is in order. Mr. President, you are to be congratulated as well. We had an awesome convoy that just kept getting better as the morning progressed. Hambone & Roache -- Thanks for being my wingmen! Successful mission. We're beat!

Started before sun up and finished after sun down. By my count that is alot of miles. Held my breath until we clear the bridge on 301. Great time and place. Great fun. Extremely honored by all the long distance ODSS Stovebolters! What a great day!
Great job by SAA Sweet on the coordination of this fine event!
I can't get over the fact that there was a calendar's worth of Stovebolts in attendance.

Traffic up around 29 and 66, 66 came so a stop several times and then an accident at 355 and 495 with all lanes stopped. Cut through Bethesda to miss that one. Regardless, a great day but too short (and not enough Stovebolt 6 IPA!). Great to see everyone and I look forward to doing that again some day.

Beautiful trip, beautiful weather, beautiful surroundings, and beautiful people! It don't get no better! I haven't been in a convoy like that for a long time. Nice to see all the trucks going down the road together! Thanks to Sweet and anyone else that made it happen and look forward to the next time! Victor

It was my first trip there and the place was just amazing. Sitting at the bar that day I pictured an afternoon with my brothers there so they can share the same experience I had.
Never in a million years would I think so many of you would be able to get together like yesterday. Even more impressive was the amount of Vintage Iron in the parking lot. Both Chad, Chris, and the entire Devil's Backbone staff were amazed at how many of us came. They have never had a group exceed their expectations like we did yesterday.
Finally the most amazing thing yesterday was that everyone DROVE those trucks there. Now before someone jumps on the Big Bolts, I will defend them by saying that I know BOTH trucks would have made the drive, but chose not to for time purposes only.
It takes a certain level of risk and confidence to take a truck that is 50-60 years old and make into a roadworthy machine capable of the miles you all traveled yesterday. This forum is the media we all use to learn, and as John says "none of us are as smart as all of us" and I thank the Millimans for giving us this playground to play in each day.
Yesterday was a celebration. A celebration for all the hard work we put into those trucks and the people that help us along the way. Every once in a while we need to stop and smell the roses and yesterday was a real treat.
Thank you all for coming, I can't wait to do it again. I mentioned to the GM yesterday that we would like to make DB the official brewery of the ODSS and they agreed. They want to improve our already great relationship. So look for more things to come!!!!

A fantastic time. Gorgeous weather, Great beer, not-as-gorgeous men-folk, and all made right by the presence of the Stovebolt Queen! So happy to see you Peggy.
Thanks to SWEET and all here who helped me get my truck to the event yesterday. Been a journey, that's for sure, but one so worth the taking. Nice to meet Josh and Jeanette and thanks, George, for bringing Dave along.
Looking forward to the winter Junkyard Tour and reconnecting with my extended family. This is truly a special place.

I know the camera makes a difference but the guy taking the picture has to know a thing or two and these shots prove that.
I failed to recognize Sweet and Phil and their efforts in putting this thing together and also to The President for hosting at what I am calling, the ODSS's "Camp David". Cool place, great food, great beer friendly folks, whats not to like?

These are great videos and pix. John's still working on the calendar. The group shot turned out really nice. My task for tomorrow is load them to York to see how they turn out in a big print. That was really a mighty fine day and a fine bunch to spend it with. I liked the way we kept meeting more as we drove along. Makes me think the trip to KC will work out fun next year. Sweet and Phil, you did an awesome job pulling thing together. What's your connection with the weather? It was incredibly perfect. I agree we need to do it again and again. Looks like there is plenty to do around there to make it a two-day event. Plus, after we eat that huge lunch, we can take a nap and not feel like we'll miss anything. Peg

That would be a great idea. (This is a really old thread. ) If there is interest, we can do a 10 year DB Commemorative Calendar. This one I need to get John to help put together. ( BTW, on the 11th of November Stovebolt turns 28 years old! )
