For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 61 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 61 | Finally at the point of re-attaching the front clip! Had a few challenges: Exhaust/intake alignment guides, starter actuator (Bendix)and the bell crank relocation. Exhaust/intake: installed w/o the alignment guides. After several attempts, I mic'd them out...too long. While running the new motor trying to fix the intake leak, the starter actuator died. This turned out to be a good thing, across the street from the starter shop was a '40 Ferd stripped to metal in front of a garage. This guy gave me the 'crabs' off a 260 scrap motor. I fabbed a bracket for the bell crank/spring retainer, and it works good in the shop. I'll update after its on the road. (Good excuse to get the oxy/actylene rig I've wanted! MIG next!) Tom | | |
