Generally I'd say "Small Block Chevy" but for '29-54 I'm not sure!!

probably School Bus Chassis, they were always produced as special-for-buses chassis/cowl models and had some pieces that only applied to them

OK, if we fill the thread with creative guesses it's going to the Greasy Spoon. Please respond only if you see it explained in the book.

John, where in the book did you see that reference?

Please don't put it in the greasy spoon. I have a steering box for an AD truck. I'm trying to find out what size truck it would fit. Under the part number 270251 in the master parts catalog online. Under this part number it fits SBC, 2 ton. I appreciate any help. Thank you!

Hy 5WINDOWJOHN, as red58 said, SBC means School Bus Chassis, the earliest reference to that in the abbreviations section of the parts books I checked was in a 1958 book. I learned this at least five decades ago, hope that helps.

Check front of Catalog under Abbreviations start at page 5, what your looking for is on page 6.
The Master Parts Catalog 1929-1954 has some dead links if you start at the CONTENTS page and try to click Next Page you get a dead link.
You have to start at the ALPHABETICAL INDEX page 11 and click Previous page and back up to page 6.
Master Parts Catalog 1929-1957 does not have this problem.

Any Whoo, (SBC) or (Sch. Bus Ch.) = School Bus Chassis
