I was looking to put an ac on my 235 in the future and my buddy told me to look for a 2 belt HB. I didn't know one existed. Are they available somewhere??
Thanks

There was a two belt balancer used on 1953-54 pass with power steering see pic. but they are rare.
Some modify the 250-292 balancer to work.

The 235 was made for cars through 1962 and even a few in 1963, so when you think in terms of any accessory being available for those cars that would require a two belt harmonic balancer, it seems logical that there should be some out there. They are hard to find, but one will occassionally come up under "Truck Parts For Sale". If you see one, act fast! They don't stick around very long!

A 261 balancer from a larger truck may also have two grooves.

The 1960 Chevy Viking 60 series bus that I got my 261 out of had a dual belt balancer on it.

One of the suppliers carries one, I am sure. They advertise it all the time. The only trouble is it is done in chrome!

Vintage Air has a complete kit with the dual pulley and bracket etc. You might find their diagram helpful.

I had one made for my 216 by Buffalo Enterprises. Took awhile to get, but the quality is seemingly high. I went with a 3/8" grove for my '52 216 so modern belts/accessories can be used. A 3/8" belt simplifies using an alternator and adding an a/c compressor. The '53 216 water pump uses a 3/8" belts, so that part of the equation is easy. All this is moot point for the 235, I think, but might be handy for others stumbling on this post.

I will probably only use one of the two grooves, but I now have a spare in the event it is needed in the future.

BTW, I also drilled and tapped the crank snout to able to bolt the balancer in place as well as draw into place instead of beating it into place.
