Hi guys - just trying to put the wood on my bed and running into a couple issues.
the woodblocks for mounting the bed - does the tallest block go on the front mount? This is what I have and it makes the bed level but the bolts that came with the mounting kit are too short by a half inch! I think maybe I'm doing something wrong. I have the bed board, then the cross rail, then the block, then the rubber pad then the frame.
Also is the off centre drilled block for the middle or the back mount?

I have a 1946. Not sure they are the same. On mine the tall larger block goes in the back. It has an off center hole and two bolts that bolt through the bed side. Then on the 46 there are 4 smaller blocks, to behind the wheel and two at the front. Page 4 of my photo bucket shows mine for the 46. The rubber pad does go against the frame.

I'd have to crawl under mine and see but from memory I think all of my blocks on the 37 half ton were 2 1/4 inches. I believe 3/4 ton trucks would be different.

I have the pad, then the block, then the sill sitting on top of the block..........hope something here helps.

Hi - yeah that's the exact kit i bought of JC. The ones in the middle are about an inch taller than the rest. I think I have the right order in the stack, but I think maybe the taller ones go in the middle. I'll try it anyways. Thanks, Matt

Mattf, before you do try checking out the Mar-K site. They have plans and are good folks. I think you can access what you need on line but not sure.

Thanks - I just emailed Mar-K. They don't have a diagram for the 37 on their site. I'll post what information they give me.

Here is the information for the bed mounting blocks on your 37 Chevy short stepside bed:

The order in which parts are installed on the truck frame is (from the frame up): rubber pad, wood mounting block, cross sill bracket/cross sill, and the bed assembly.

1. The pair of smaller blocks with the center hole go under the 1st cross sill (back from the cab), which is the first bed to frame location.

2. Make sure that the wood blocks with the offset hole are located under the third cross sill that has the offset hole cross sill brackets attached. This is the second bed to frame location.

3. At this time you need to install the large wood blocks at the rear of the bed. These large wood blocks fit up against the bottom of the edge boards and rest on the rubber pad on top of the frame. The notched cut on the bottom of the wood block should be against the bottom of the bed side. The rear most bed-to-frame bolt can now be installed. These bolts hold the bed-to-frame blocks in place.
