Drove my fire truck to work where I drive a fire truck and took the opportunity to take some pictures. The 57 seems tiny when parked by the 2011 Pierce Velocity.

Fixed a small exhaust leak and it's been running perfect. I ran the buffer wheel over what's left of the paint because I got sweet talked into hauling kids in the 4th of July parade. Should have done it sooner, it looks a lot better. I have a good chunk of dough saved up for a paint job but I'm actually working on some sponsors that want to help contribute to the cause.

The '57 looks great. It does look small compared to new apparatus.

Well,

At least they both have a "Q"! And I'm glad they have the sense to carry Hard Suction on the new truck. Hope you guys actually get to train on it, once in a while. I bet you could get to where you can draft better than the Pierce!

I like the old truck better!!! wink

NFPA compliant pumpers still have to have the hard suction on them. If anything they have to use it for pump testing. Being a city department we rarely draft but we do train on it frequently. This new Pierce has an air actuated primer. It pulls a draft pretty quick.
