My truck came with stock 6 lug 15" rims, which should be 5.5" wide. Does anyone know if 235/75/15's will fit on them? Is that too wide?
Thanks

My tire dealer told me to use 235/75/15's on my 15" rims. Check with your local tire dealer for his recommendation.

235s work best on 6-7 inch wide wheels. On a 5.5 inch wheel, there could be issues with wandering and tire stability. A 215/75/15 would be a better fit, and is very close to the stock 6.70-15 in overall size.

Does anyone know what the overall diameter of the 6.70/15 tire was. I am thinking of going with a 205/75/R15 to go my 5" wide stock wheels. I would like to insure I am getting the proper height.

Thanks in advance

Walt,

What year 6.70/15 tire?

The rolling diameter in 1952 was about 26.7"
The unloaded diameter was about 28.1"
