Is it possible to change the 'stomp start' gear to one for a 168 tooth ring gear?
I'm finding all sorts of 168 tooth flywheels, but cant locate a 139 tooth ring geared flywheel for the six bolt crankshaft.

Thanks!
Tom

Are you using 6 or 12 volts?
If you are using 12 volt than a 1955-59 truck is 12 volt and stomp style and will work. You will need the whole starter, not just the drive.

I'm going to have a 6V flywheel with good ring available soon, converting to automatic.

Thanks for the replies! I'm sticking with 6V for now, I understand those starters like the 12V.

Jim, your flywheel is six bolts to the crank, and how many for the clutch?

I'll PM you is you don't mind, and we can hash out the details.

Thanks!
Tom
